Kulhavah falu Rani

Square

Wishing you all the greetings of Islamic New year.

Dedicated to the royal bride “Kulhavah falu rani”. This image was taken in the wet land areas of Noonu Atoll Landhoo.

At this habitats you can find varieties of living things, Also this place is good bird nesting ground. Mangrove apple (Sonneratia caseolaris) locally known as Kulhavah is a local delicacy. It might sometimes have a strong smell but its very tasty. If you ever had the chance just try it.
I have always being amazed by the pencil roots of this plant and its very strange to see areal roots coming from the ground.

In Maldives and around the world these habitats are under threatened. We should protect these places for the coming generations. Specially places where you have cultural stories that relates to your community.
