Sun Spots

Square

This is the second time i tried to find the difference between sunspots. The first picture was shot on 13 January 2010 and the other on today (15 April 2011). I have used a special filter that i bought to shoot the ring solar eclipse which took place last year. I really dont know much about sun, but those dark areas on my image should be sunspots.  To find more information about sun, i would be joining my friends at  SunDay – Exploring the Sun. This event is hosted by  Maldivian Association for the Advancement of Science

For photographers and new bees.
Please dont shoot sun directly through your camera. You need to get sun filters if you want to shoot.

More information about the event.

SunDay, on Sunday April 17th, is a day dedicated to our star, the Sun. SunDay is a project intended to raise people’s awareness of our star. What is it? How does it affect us? The different layers of the Sun, solar activity (sunspots, flares, prominences, coronal mass ejections and the solar wind), space weather, energy production, helioseismology—these are all different aspects of the Sun waiting to be discovered and understood.

Time : Sunday, April 17 · 4:00pm – 6:00pm
Location : West Park, Male’, Maldives

Hope to see you all!
