I believe not much has being done by the government to save our culture and heritage. This is just one example. Our old museum is part of Maldivian heritage, its part of the grand palace building. Remember the name “Saltan park”. Does this mean anything to you?
Not only this place so many places most commonly in local language “Ziyarah” is being distorted in different parts of Maldives. I believe there are some influence by the Islamic ministry and Adhaalath party behind this. People keep in mind that some day you would realized what you are doing to our culture and heritage. May be you people would’t realize it but your second generation of your kids will. So i am asking you all to save these places for your children.
If we dont have a culture and heritage we are no body. We cant call us as Maldivian

Very true. The government needs to pay more attention to these sites. We barely have any now. We can’t ‘make’ heritage. We ‘preserve’ them. Somebody needs to do something before its too late.
